Current role

Great Clips is the world's largest salon brand, with over 4,300 franchised salons in the US and Canada. As Digital Strategist, I work with people throughout the organization to make the best use of social and digital marketing and communication tools. With industry-leading multi-channel 1:1 marketing programs, fully integrated national and local level campaigns, responsive multi-channel customer service, and the greatest app in brick-and-mortar, it's a fun and challenging job I look forward to doing every day.

Professional history

I've been blessed with an incredible set of diverse opportunities in my life. I managed departments and businesses in the recreation industry for more than a decade. That included apprenticing as a paddlewheel riverboat pilot. I spent 6 years as a US Marine and had the honor of serving in Ukraine, Iraq, Morocco, and Uganda, as well as 6 US states. For two years I supported my growing freelance marketing career by working as a jail guard in the evenings. My time as a freelance social media marketer and web developer gave me the opportunity to work with local professionals, governmental bodies, the arts community, and nonprofits. It was my volunteer work with the Phakamani Foundation, a South African micro-entrepreneur organization, that led to me joining the Great Clips family.

Personal notes

I live on a small hobby farm north of Minneapolis. I love being outdoors, reading, and most of all spending time with my family. I wear a lot of hats. I mean literally, I like wearing hats. Ask me to tell you a story that starts with, "So there I was..."
